Just watched Joe Barr awarded his WUCA World Championship jersey and trophy in the over-50s category and I'm a wee bit emotional. He's an inspirational guy already, but a 64 year old riding 3600km in 260 hours is astounding. There's people on that course (a circuit of Poland) who are still three days from finishing.
I have few actual heroes but he's definitely one.

I'm currently driving through the Pyrenees and seeing a few cycling who might be part of the Three Peaks Bike Race ultracycling event.
Some have already finished, and the remaining will have to go through 40C+ of heat.

Well, it worked out a very long day indeed, things didn't go according to plan, I'm still not entirely sure why but I think it was the heat and humidity that got to me in the first 8 hours, after that it was a quite strange sensation, my legs felt fine but I had no energy to make them go round. I had to take an emergency hours break for a sleep at midnight, felt a little better after that so kept going so as I wouldn't DNF.

I'm like a hen on a hot griddle here switching between weather models (wxcharts is great) trying to figure out if and when it's going to rain during the Mondello24 race, if it's going to rain I'd prefer it to be after dawn on Sunday morning, the end is getting closer by then and a little extra misery shouldn't is easier to stomach. Mas estou em paz com minhas buscas deste ano que são conseguir uma casa nova e continuar desenvolvendo a parceria de investimentos. Penso em fazer o @frenchdivide em 2024, a ver. Percebam que assisti sim ao filme "O Segredo" há muitos anos.

Das wäre mal ein interessantes Extremsport-Projekt: 11 Bundesländer an einem Tag mit dem Fahrrad.

Man könnte auch Bayern weglassen, am Dreiländereck Hessen/Niedersachsen/Thüringen starten und am Ende noch bis Berlin fahren, das waren aber immer 15-20 km mehr in BRouter.

Und irgendeine Lösung mit 12 oder mehr Bundesländern, die für die weltbesten Ultra-Radfahrer*innen in 24h zu schaffen ist, habe ich nicht gefunden.
