Unregulated capitalism is bad for your health. And my health. And your family's health.

Produced by a handful of multinational companies, UPF is created to be cheap to produce and transport, with industrially derived substances replacing costlier ingredients and ensuring long shelf lives. It is also designed to make us buy more – essential in a system where businesses must keep growing to satisfy their shareholders each quarter. Global consumption is rising fast, especially in middle-income countries.

Getting an interesting vibe about #ultraprocessedfoods. The pushback is increasing rapidly.
Does seem as if the USA, to a lesser extent the UK, and to a lesser extent again the rest of the wealthy, white world may have been poisoning itself for decades based on simple, easy to understand, wrong, but profitable, answers about food. UPFs might be the next tobacco. Maybe.
But it’s a complex and subtle argument from rich data.
Interesting to see who’s getting angry about the very idea.
From an early age I loathed processed foods. This acknowledges that it was good to do so and will motivate me to even more use mostly fresh and unprocessed food.

I also try to curb my salt and sugar intake and use whole grains and brown rice, or things made of that.

I would like to see this study in context of not just #fastfood but #UltraprocessedFoods in general.
Was there not a question anyway why non fatty liver disease is on the rise?
