Researchers at #UMass Amherst accidentally discovered that a new air sensor was actually generating electricity from the moisture in the air and plan to scale up to a full prototype by next year.

It's currently 98% humidity here in #NH. This would be an amazing power source.

Looked it up - my first #Debian install would almost surely have been Potato. It's easy to bracket the time because this was sometime during my one year in the #UMass dorms, so 2001.09 - 2002.05, and Woody wasn't out til 2002.07.

This is an interesting take on gifting and one that goes a long way to teach the future generations the importance of giving back to the society.

Still recovering from the fantastic and fantastically busy Friday, where went to see @adrienne graduate with a degree in Veterinary Sciences from UMass Amherst. Beautiful sunny day, which meant hot in the stands for the 2 ceremonies but it was lovely and tearjerking to see her finally walk that stage. A good dinner and then a long drive back made for a long day.

Yesterday was a blast. We went to the 88th annual Livestock Classic in Amherst and were the proud obnoxious parents as @adrienne won her bracket showing Boba, a beautiful goat who can often be fractious but performed beautifully for the show. We also got to meet R's new boy friend (not sure if there is a space or not yet :joy_cat:), who seems nice but very quiet. And I managed to not fall asleep on the way home while driving, like I did last year. Little things.
