I guess I do not follow enough sports types here. The ones I follow in Twitter haven't made the jump here, which saddens me. The more famous will probably land on Threads if I'm lucky.

Plus, I'm not a Lions fan per se (grew up in WI, now live in MA, so #Packers and Pats), but I get a lot of Detroit sports threads on other socials from my in-state #umich friends ( #goblue ).

You know that common nightmare (or at least one that I have often) where you arrive on a university campus on the first day and you have no idea where your classes are? That's happening live right now at the University of Michigan where all their campuses are suffering an internet outage. It's ongoing during their first week of class.

Apparently the internet has been down on #UMich campus since this afternoon, and the entire website + all services are down with it. Wow! ITS is posting updates on the bird site, but nothing is back up yet. Will be interesting to see what that means for the workday tomorrow!

~1145a Tue 2023-05-02 city was notified of sewage coming out of a manhole near the entrance to the #umich Arboretum on Washington Heights. Public works staff immediately investigated and found a blockage in the sewer pipe, ... gravel and dirt from a collapsed sewer pipe. The overflow caused an est. 200 gal. of sewage to overflow onto the ground, which then flowed down a gravel pathway toward the #arb. No sewage reached any storm drain or waterway.

I was GEO president for a brief moment and an active steering com'tee member way back in the late 90s at UMich. Cops being sicced on picketing grad workers by then-president Bollinger was inconceivable.
