#ClockworkPi #DevTerm owners out there: what do you use as #case on the go for our small #umpc? Have you 3d printed the Cover? I thought about one of these cable/tech cases with a size bigger than 220mm x 160mm x 50mm...

@ky4qx I did the same thing with my #umpc lately and will replicate that every 12-20v range electronics that I have including a yaesu vx8r and icom ic-705. Also will unite them under a usb-pd powerbank and replace old school powerpacks which are cumbersome.

So, Planet Computers could finally ship my Astro Slide ( https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/astro-slide-5g-transformer/ ). I don't have a single #UMPC in use for years. I keep putting too much trust in the devices from Plant Computers. They break easily and the software experience has been far less than good. Supposedly it's gotten better with recent updates. So I was looking forward to my Astro Slide. Initially I thought it would be great if it arrived before #37C3 in 2020. When that event was cancelled, I didn't mind to wait another year. The same in 2021. Now I do get the device, but there's still no congress.

Also, I backed the Astro Slide project before I learned that F(x)tec has launched their PRO¹ campaign ( https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/pro1-x-smartphone-functionality-choice-control/ ). I'd rather get one of these with a solid, tested hinge and a Nokia-like keyboard for thumb-typing. So I', looking forward to getting that one next year even more.

Impressions of the GPD Win 3 #umpc now that I’ve been using it for about 9 months:

- Build quality is fine. I’m not amazed but neither am I disappointed.
- People make fun of it constantly because it’s _adorable_.
- Nice and performant. About the same as a Steamdeck in that it can run older games fine and new stuff at lower settings.
- Battery life is okay, but hardly impressive. Macs have spoiled me.
- Real ports! USB A! Ethernet! HDMI!

I've got Acer Aspire One 725 (https://www.umpcportal.com/products/Acer/Aspire%20One%20725) off the shelf, bumped it with 6GB RAM and 60GB SSD instead of stock 500GB HDD and I'm installing Gentoo on it.

I feel like it is going to be a nice video player and a notepad:)

It feels like I'm compiling the kernel on a teapot though;)

This is the cutest windows sounds I have ever heard of. I cannot stop my self admiring this little #umpc . After my sony Vaio P, this will be my favorite computer!

@256 I had hardcore gadget lust for this #UMPC back then, but decided on the Fujitsu P1610 convertible tablet, which I still occasionally use today.
