Scott's polling average has been steadily declining since he announced his candidacy. In the first poll conducted after his announcement, he was at 7%. However, his polling average has since fallen to 3.8%.

Perhaps his abysmal performance explains his increasingly embarrassing comments. In desperation, he's getting more and more ridiculous as he struggles to appeal to the Republican base.
