Harvesting has been considered on the verge of breakthrough for five decades now, while administration through the International Seabed Authority has progressed slightly quicker. The potential of difficult-to-reverse damage to ecosystems has been known for longer but does not seem to faze investors.

Never mind the decision taken in 2016 by the #UNCLOS arbitration court, telling Beijing to forget about its #NineDashLine and its attempt to expand and militarize islands and reefs in the West Philippines Sea, also known as the East Vietnam Sea and the North Indonesia Sea.

The PRC simply states that the Award "is null and void, and has no binding effect
on China" - and nothing changes.

Nope: The East Vietnam Sea, also known as the Northwest Filipino Sea or the North Indonesian Sea is NOT territory of #China. An arbitration court of #UNCLOS took a very different decision back in 2016.
For this reason the pilots of the #PLA are welcome to follow international rules of engagement and to not provoke dangerous incidents.
Nope: China is not a force of peace and stability in the region. It's expansionist and chauvinist. And it bets on brinkmanship to slice that salami.
