Picked up Undaunted Stalingrad, a standalone two player (resettable) legacy style deck builder campaign.

I really like the first game, but haven’t gotten it to the table enough. Don’t know when I’ll manage to get someone to commit to a 15 game series. But I absolutely love it.

It was a close battle, America had no rifleman cards left, but they managed to remove all enemy squad cards from the opposing deck. It was close and tense all the way to the end.

Another game I played this weekend was one scenario of #ConflictofHeroes from #AcademyGames . I had played it a long time ago so I needed to refresh a rules little bit.

I must say, every time I open the box, am absolutely blown away by the quality of the components. I adore the illustrations on the counters with easily legible information. Counters are sooo thick! I like just looking around beautifully illustrated maps. And it even comes with its own storage solution! All games should be like this.

Rules are not complicated. 3rd edition involves a lot of die rolling to see if a unit can preform more actions this round. It could be tedious, but I can see positives of this system as well. Shooting and moving is pretty straightforward. What I don't like that much is casualty system and missing supression mechanic. I think that this system is a great next step for someone entering wargaming, for example from playing #Undaunted.

I am looking forward to comparing this system to #BandofBrothers, which I have received recently. From glancing over the rules, I guess, that it could incentivize more realistic behavior of players. I am going to test it, hopefully sooner tham later. After that I hope, that I can provide some meaningful comparsion of these tactical WW2 systems.

Meine Recherchestand zu #Undaunted #Normandy. Die deutsche Erstauflage hat mind. einen Übersetzungsfehler (ich finde bei #GiantRoc keine Errata), zweite Auflage nicht in Sicht. Die englischen Fassungen haben Farbabweichungen zwischen den Modulen und Auflagen; Dank #Brexit gibt u.U. Zoll, wenn man direkt in UK bestellt. Alles nicht ideal.

Yes, I play #wargames. Frankly, I prefer them over other #boardgames.
Unfortunately, my copy of #UndauntedStalingrad is damaged. I‘ll send it back.
So far, I really dig the #Undaunted game series. Hopefully, the replacement will be in better condition.
