@vesperto So the crux is more about *whose* projects get funded: is the committee being fair/supportive for projects led by women or by people from communities among researchers? And, if we manage to realise we're not being fair in statistical terms (which we know we're not at a national level), how can we improve in practice?

We've got to get away from the motto "let's make those people apply more", making the discriminated people themselves culprit of the discrimination.2/2

practical question

As a committee member, next January I'll take part in selecting 45% out of a few hundreds of projects, reviewing a couple tens myself.

How can I help promoting diversity? Any practical guide edited for committee members somewhere?

Being in France, I don't have info whether PI/participants belong to groups - such stats illegal here! - but of course M/F is easier to determine.
