As Climate Crisis Worsens, the Case for Eco-socialism Strengthens
An excellent and concrete strategic presentation to address our ecological crises by South African ecosocialist Patrick Bond. It is long and deep, but worth a read. Bond takes on the contradiction between the dystopian and bureaucratic technofixes of the ecomodernists and the social change praxis of climate activists, ecofeminists and ecosocialists and proposes a strategic conception that synthesizes certain elements of the former within the latter framework. In so doing he seeks to transcend market-based strategies such as carbon taxes and the like which are meant to provide a green cover for continued despoliation of the ecosphere.

Jason Hickel provides the best in-a-nutshell of the term #neoliberal "A contradiction lies at the very centre of the# neoliberal project. On a theoretical level, neoliber- alism promises to bring about a purer form of democracy, unsullied by the tyranny of the state. Indeed, his claim serves as the moral lodestar for neoliberal ideology ... banner under which it justifies radical market dercgulation..." #anticapitalism #socialism #economics #jasonhickel #unequalexchange #globalism #neoliberalism
