Working on a new sky that won't be using a humongous (8Kx4K) procedurally generated texture to draw the stars. It seems like 256,000 particles is absolutely nothing for Godot 4...
As a , the stars can be animated now and will be extremely sharp.
One thing I'd want to do later is put them on a separate render layer so that I can maybe use anti-aliasing just for them and generally optimize.
