After banks foreclosed on the properties of people of color more often than white home owners during the housing bubble, banks have been more willing to work with POC homeowners and some but not the majority were able to obtain modifications on their homes. Renters who were evicted have permanent eviction records and cannot obtain rent fr 5 years. This is why white politicians keep home ownership white.
