Et encore mieux : vous décidez depuis votre téléphone quel service utiliser, du moment qu'il parle le protocole #UnifiedPush, sans que votre admin d'instance doive faire quoi que ce soit.

Mastodon est bien foutu et pas low-tech pour 2 sous. Mastodon permet d'utiliser une alternative libre appelée #UnifiedPush, qui est un protocole très simple pour envoyer et souscrire à des notifications par des topics (des canaux d'information, si vous voulez).

It's been bugging me for a few days that only a fraction of the notifications are coming through to my phone, despite them all being there when checking the topic URL.

Turns out that the default Android notification settings for the "subscription service" channel in ntfy is "other" rather than "important" (terminology may vary). Since changing this, all the notifications have arrived without delay.
