Within the next 500,000,000 years or so the planet will become #uninhabitable simply because our #Sun is ageing and slowly expanding, but if we keep letting #anthropogenic #ClimateChange go unchallenged it will happen much, MUCH faster than that.

We need a two pronged approach: deal with and adapt to the damage already done, and prevent it going completely out of control.

At some stage we need to get off this planet, no matter what, but let's ensure we have enough time to do it.

I've been in #ESG and #corporateresponsibility for years now. I couldn't wrap my head around why there was no meaningful commitments to #change. It dawned on me that as long as #profits are prioritized over #people and #planet, we won't change. There's no incentive to change for the better. #businessasusual will degrade our #environment until it is #uninhabitable. That is our guaranteed future under this system. #greengrowth will not save us.

We need more SERIOUS discussion of how we are going to cope in a humane way with BILLIONS of #ClimateRefugees over the next decades. Much of the world is about to become #uninhabitable. I used to be an advocate for #OpenBorders, but that is not a practical answer when considering Billions forced from their homes.
