@UndisScot and for those who like their swimming, at the beginning of September there is an organised swim down the Tweed and under the bridge in September. Money will be raised for the Borders Water Rescue Team. I’ve run over the bridge so given this is at the start I might even be able to appreciate the alternative view. It will probably be a different matter by time when (if?) I reach the finish.

203 years ago today. The Union Chain Bridge over the River Tweed upstream from Berwick-upon-Tweed opened to traffic on 26 July 1820. At the time it was the world's longest iron suspension bridge.
