The objective of a #unitedfrontagainstfascism and the maximal demands of the constituent groups in the necessary coalition are not identical.
Hence, marginalized groups will sequester in exclusivist formations and develope their own jargons.
Others need to accept that, but also they must recognize that people who are working against the common enemy are not evil opponents when they are not up on the latest trends and nuances in avante-garde #idpol.
There is a need for patience, forgiveness, listening and resilience on all sides if we are to defeat the spectre of global authoritarianism.
If we fail, all bets are off and there is a very real possibility of highly undesirabvle #dystopian outcomes.

@TheBird After listening to Jonathan on the podcast the other day, I agree with everything he says but am puzzled as to why no mention of #LGBT in this long thread.
OK but when this is framed solely in terms of BIPOC then it perpetuates exclusion of #LGBTQIA #peoplewithdisabilities #AAPI #nuerodivergent and doesn't firewall against any form of #blacknationalism which though not really a problem here, at all, at this time, occasionally does interfere with a #unitedfrontagainstfascism.
I understand that #resistance against #fascism is not a sufficient remedy for the #oppression #BIPOC contend with, but to the extent that others (not Jonathan) overtly discourage "yts" from dialogue we create a centrifugal force of exclusionary identity politics.
White people who express solidarity with #POC are bombarded by hateful DMs. To then be told by some leaders of indigenous conversation on Mastodon to stay out of moderation discussions, don't offer suggestions is a bit put offish.
At least Jonathan is engaging in broad dialogue and not an insular "POC-only" silo, so that is cool.
