On this day in 1919, the Ukrainian People's Republic and the Western Ukrainian People's Republic were unified into a sovereign state.

This was done through the signing of the Act Zluky, which fulfilled “the centuries-long dreams that the best sons of Ukraine lived with and died for.”

Today, we celebrate the Day of Unity as a way to say that Ukraine’s sovereignty, after being violated by the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union, and Putin’s Russia, will never be violated again.

The national holiday of Romania is approaching, which is November 30, Saint Andrew, the patron saint of Romania, and December 1, Romania's Unity Day. Of course, both will be spent working from morning to evening due to the modern lifestyle, but you have to remember how important November 30 is.
St. Andrew's Eve is often celebrated, from the night of 29 to 30, when St. Andrew's fortune-telling is performed, trying to guess which first lady will marry or what fate awaits us in the near future. This is done by pouring wax through a keyhole and examining freezing shapes, all-day fasting and counting that the future lover himself will dream at night, or other magical procedures.
In some pagan circles, this date heralds the Days of Darkness, a time of darkness covering the Earth until Yule, the winter solstice celebrated on December 20-23. This holiday is very important, so of course I will be going out of town celebrating both Saturnalia and Yule.
For now, "Darkness covers the earth", and we will look forward to Sol Invictus, the Invincible Sun, and believe that he will win this eternal fight this year as well.
