Perhaps when I finally get around to rewatching it, it won't stand up but #FromUpOnPoppyHill was one of my first encounters with Slice of Life anime and, as such, is probably my favourite #StudioGhibli film. #UnpopularOpinions

#unpopularOpinions ‘Friends’ should be made in a ‘Friends-making-ceremony’ like that of the Huŋkálowaŋpi from Lakota people. I can count all my friends on one hand with fingers to spare. To explain: if I’m your friend, I’ll pull up my own floor boards to hide you from the cops. That requires trust from long years of acquaintance.
