I also use this hashtag when I refer to making custom games on Mastodon and then gaming with other Mastodon users.

ie. if you wanna play chess with another Mastodon user and you wanna be #PlatformIndependent you can do like this, ie.

User Alice creates a post:
> "Chess game with Bob@mastochess.not, E4" and then posts it while her #ChessEngine is already set up in that way, with her first move.

Bob boosts the post and replies to it and types "E5", then updates all moves on his chosen chess engine.

Now Alice also boosts Bob's first post regarding this #ChessGame so she will be notified of all his future moves.

Bob will replace "E5" now with all his future moves and Alice does the same on her own post for her own moves.

Now you can play #Chess until completion 😃

One way to do this as an #UnregisteredUser on #Lichess is you go to the "TOOLS" menu and select "Analysis board".

Now you can move pieces around on the #chessboard for as long as both sides follow the rules of chess...
