@shing Found this #unsetmotel letter today in an old mail slot we don’t use and I feel like it’s very fitting that my house apparently just ate it for a couple of months and then spit it out.

For the last few months, I’ve been receiving regular letters as part of a creepy little epistolary story. The series is called Unset 1965, and is about a woman who buys a motel which she runs by herself in the middle of the California desert in the early 1970s. The story is by Shing Yin Khor, and is pretty phenomenal. It’s set in Amboy, which is a real ghost town that I visited this summer (without realizing the connection).
