Don’t just jump into action on a design project. ASK QUESTIONS AND THEN ASK SOME MORE. What a customer says they want is often miscommunicated (urgency/brevity) in the initial ask and what they really want will only reveal itself after thoughtful discussion. #unsolicitedadvice

#mastodon feels like walking into a party where I recognize some people, but they are all doing a line dance I don’t know.
They’re trying to show me how, encouraging me to just jump in and try it, but honestly all I want to do is grab a drink & some chips & sit in the corner with a few good friends and catch up.
That corner is actually 3 or 4 group Signal chats, so that’s where I’ve been partying these days.
No awkward mastodon line dancing, no birds.
If you’ve had a different experience here, good for you! I don’t need yet another line dancer trying to show me the steps, like curating my feed, following some hashtags, is going to make me better at dancing here.
It will not, or maybe it will later, but I also know already because it’s patently obvious to anyone on here for more than 5 minutes, so thanks, you do not need to give me your “tips.”
