I un-wrote 2K words today. Some I even liked, but they had to go go go. #UnWriting is an important part of the #AmWriting process.

I know people are busy counting words for #NaNoWriMo - but let's also share our #UnWriting word counts.

With my second novel, I un-wrote about 40K words (bye bye, darlings), then added 50K better ones.

It. Was. So. Hard!

Almost threw it in the bin. Instead, I finished the manuscript. Which was rejected by about 20 publishers and agents. Then it won an unpublished award, got listed for other awards; and two years later it's had 4 or 5 reprints (eek).

So the moral of the story is: just keep writing - and deleting.
