📣SAVE THE DATE: 3rd Annual Poetry in the Park in Honor of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Womens’ Day | Wednesday, May 3 5:00PM | 📍Heron Park (Aspen and D St.) | Springfield, Oregon
✨illioo Native Theater and the UO Native American and Indigenous Studies Academic Residential Community are pleased to present the 3rd Annual Poetry in the Park Honoring Missing and Murdered Indigenous Womens’ Day.
Â
✨We are looking for those that might want to volunteer to assist with the event or also serve as poetry reader. If you would like to volunteer or be involved, please contact Marta Clifford (mcliffo2@uoregonl.edu) or Kenlei Cowell (kcowell@uoregon.edu).Â
✨This year we want to spread awareness by featuring community stories. We are hoping to display messages and art from the community for people to view before and after the reading. We also want to offer a prayer and read the names of community members who have been impacted by MMIW.Â
Â
We invite submissions of art, poetry, and comments for display and names you would like to be read during a prayer. We will accept names and art and comments from all across Turtle Island, so please feel free to share widely. To do so, please visit the submission form here or my following the QR code above.
Additional event details will be shared closer to the event date via social media.
