Mijn oude laptop origineel Windows7 #upgraded naar #Windows10 en toen miste ik dat stukje hardware "Trusted Platform Module" (#TPM) waardoor #Windows11 niet wil installeren.

Nu draait #LinuxMint 21 als een zonnetje en veel veiliger en sneller dan die lijpe TPM #beveiligingseis.

Folks that run their own #Mastodon / #Masto #server and have #upgraded to 4.0.2 I have question about #permissions

Looks like my server upgraded to 4.0.2, but it knocked out my #admin permissions. I tried to reset them from the terminal, but kept getting a :

Cannot find user role with that name.

..error. Anyone else do a #MastodonServer #upgrade and have this issue. Any advice from you #fediverse oldtimers?

I #upgraded my system to #Fedora37 overnight.

For me it takes a long time and that’s why I let it run while I’m sleeping. Surely there should be a way of upgrading the core system (kernel, libraries and drivers) and then all the non-essential user programs later at one’s leisure?

I just #upgraded this instance from v3.5.3 in less than 5 minutes. 🚀

I can now also get rid of my housekeeping cron job by using the built-in content retention settings.

Hi everybody on #Mastodon. I need to pick your brains for this one I suppose. A few weeks ago, I #upgraded from #Ubuntu Focal Fossa, 20 LTS to Jammy Jellyfish LTS. During the upgrade, everything seemed to go as well as one can expect. All notifications seemed normal. Obsolete programs got deleted and others updated. You know, the usual stuff. So I was glad everything went well. I guess, at that point only my cat Kitty was upset because the Fossa gradually got replaced by a Jellyfish 😉 Then, the big moment came, I had to restart my pc and then, I got this error message. (Take a look at the picture enclosed) But otherwise, after the start-up things seemed to work as usual. However, I did have to uninstall Firefox to get snap install out of Firefox, because otherwise my card reader software wouldn't work. I found a piece of code which did just that and, phew, that worked just fine. See part 2 of this 🧵

Are you only upgrading #PostgreSQL or also #Mastodon. For the latter I remember executing the steps for each in between version.

#Upgraded overnight to #Fedora35. This one took significantly less time than the past couple of upgrades. I'm not certain why but things seem OK, Currently running #Linux #Kernel 5.14.15.

Finally managed to get the upgrade from v3.3.0 to 3.4.1 done. Whatever prevented me from upgrading my mastodon instance when 3.4.0 came out seemingly got fixed with 3.4.1.

#Upgraded to #Fedora34 overnight. The process went smoothly and quicker than my past few. My desktop defaulted to #Plasma #Wayland, as I use #KDE but there are still a few issues with that. The #X11 version is fine for now.
