Today I migrated ~1700 notes from #Evernote to both #UpNote and #Obsidian, and I plan to briefly run both in parallel while I'm exploring their features on Windows and Android. I also looked at #Logseq as an option, but determined it's not a great fit for my existing notes. And I ruled out #Notion because in a past trial it was sluggish, too network-dependent, and too much of a do-everything app.

Just discovered #UpNote and it's my new favorite #markdown #notetaking app! It has full Markdown support, syncing, apps for #Mac and #iOS, backups and it's just 17.99 one time purchase. Wow

In contrast, a markdown app like #upnote (which I currently use) just works. It clips from everywhere beautifully and exactly as you’d expect. I can scan my handwritten notes and copy them in to keep a digital record of my meetings. It has backup and versioning, all the usual backlinks/tags/formatting/syntax highlighting for code blocks etc options out of the box.
@n8dunn Yeah that’s the key. I currently use Apple Notes and am quite happy. Have been slowly moving to #upnote because it is more markdown focused and has backup and versioning options. This is all fine for writing.
But it’s the visual and broader connections between knowledge snippets that I’m after here. And building up a knowledge base for my research (which I’ve been a bit lax with and think will help for some upcoming projects I have).
Just a quick update on my quest for the note-taking solution that best fits my needs:
I'm currently oscillating between #Joplin and #Obsidian, but have also added #UpNote to the mix (which I quite like since it most closely resembles #Evernote).
Will probably gravitate towards a combo of #Joplin and #Upnote for now. I'll need more time to scale the #Obsidian learning curve before I can insert it into my workflow.

@dedalusroot I use #UpNote for my note-taking (session details, campaign lore, and player/character notes), Roll20 for the VTT, and Discord for the voice chat. UpNote is also used for handouts via publishing notes to web.
