The migration from to was far easier, but I was unable to get internal Evernote links to translate; instead, clicking a note link in UpNote takes me to the old Evernote note. I contacted their support team about this, and they said they're looking into it.

Today I migrated ~1700 notes from to both and , and I plan to briefly run both in parallel while I'm exploring their features on Windows and Android. I also looked at as an option, but determined it's not a great fit for my existing notes. And I ruled out because in a past trial it was sluggish, too network-dependent, and too much of a do-everything app.

In contrast, a markdown app like (which I currently use) just works. It clips from everywhere beautifully and exactly as you’d expect. I can scan my handwritten notes and copy them in to keep a digital record of my meetings. It has backup and versioning, all the usual backlinks/tags/formatting/syntax highlighting for code blocks etc options out of the box.

@n8dunn Yeah that’s the key. I currently use Apple Notes and am quite happy. Have been slowly moving to because it is more markdown focused and has backup and versioning options. This is all fine for writing.

But it’s the visual and broader connections between knowledge snippets that I’m after here. And building up a knowledge base for my research (which I’ve been a bit lax with and think will help for some upcoming projects I have).

Just a quick update on my quest for the note-taking solution that best fits my needs:

I'm currently oscillating between and , but have also added to the mix (which I quite like since it most closely resembles ).

Will probably gravitate towards a combo of and for now. I'll need more time to scale the learning curve before I can insert it into my workflow.

@dedalusroot I use for my note-taking (session details, campaign lore, and player/character notes), Roll20 for the VTT, and Discord for the voice chat. UpNote is also used for handouts via publishing notes to web.
