Jack Snipe at the Moors #uptonwarren again this morning. 14 Pochard probably the largest flock in Worcestershire at present a far cry from the large numbers in previous years (238 in Nov 1981!). Female Bearded Tit still present yesterday exactly 2 months after it appeared. 2 Siskin with Goldfinch flock and Jay new for me. Only 6 of the regular 8 Curlews this morning. #birding #birdinguk

Moors #uptonwarren this morning. Generally quiet, c250 Linnet and 40 Stock Dove to bird crop. 2 Water Rail, low numbers of Teal, Shoveler and Tufted Duck but Pochard numbers increased to 8. A single female Goosander quite lethargic, hopefully not due to bird flu.

MOORS #uptonwarren Little grebe 13 roosted in scrape at dark when 25 snipe flew out. Goosander♀️Shelduck♂️ Gadwall 12, Teal 6, Shoveler 11, Pochard 2♂️ tufted 14, water rail 8 in Amy's Marsh.Coot 50, Little Egret, curlew 6,Lapwing 170, beardie. Cetti's 3. Grey wag, Peregrine ♂️.

Thanks to all 18 work party crew for today at MOORS #uptonwarren. Pollarding willows, creating habitat piles from brash, also linked gaps in bramble/hawthorn hedge with brash to minimise unwanted incursion (humans) & improve scrub. Also repaired stock fence. 👍 @susiannamaud@twitter.com 🍰

Highlight 1st Brambling of this season.
Also, 100+ Redwing and Fieldfare across the reserve, 7 Curlew, 4 Snipe, Shelduck, Pochard, 40+ Shoveler, 50+ Teal, 200+ Lapwing, c20 Cormorant, 80+ Greylag Geese through, Buzzard, Kestrel, flocks of Linnet and Chaffinch, Herring and Lesser Black-backed Gulls in various plumage cycles.
Left camera at home #birdbrain 🙄.
