One thing I like about some of the newer #bots I’m seeing on #Mastodon is that they’re including links to the source material of the creator! #Reddit bots with links to the post, allowing the ability to #upvote, #subscribe, or otherwise support the content creators, is so much more ethical bot behavior in my opinion than just grabbing net-available images without proper attribution of their work. Kudos to ethical bot managers!

Reddit is uniquely positioned to do well here because it has a large userbase with a wide variety of very focused #subreddits. The large, general subreddits usually have pretty bland and even cringe content at the top of their feeds, but a somewhat small, knowledgeable community dedicated to a particular topic can use Reddit's #upvote system to very effectively boost quality content.

Yes, metadata is data, but is not much data and definately not content.

A blockchain (bc) of entries linking a UID and wikipediaID-EditID to an #upvote (or #downvote) is not going to get too large, especially if the bc does #pruning, after which time the bc disregards the wikipediaID-editID and aggregates the weighted upvotes and downvotes into one value.

Combined with databases for content. We see potential for a bc to help decentralise many parts of the Internet.
