Letzte Woche hatten wir auf unserer Grabung im Bischofsgarten von #StPölten hohen Besuch. In Zusammenarbeit mit der #Stadtarchäologie St. Pölten können wir hier ein weiteres wichtiges Stück Stadtgeschichte von der #Römerzeit über das #Mittelalter bis in die #Neuzeit untersuchen.

Today on Backyard Archaeology!! My wife is an avid gardener and sometimes comes up with some pretty interesting stuff while digging around, lots of stories to be had about the history of even just our little plot of land in suburbia!!!

Against background of a white, blue-ruled, index card, a yellow tape measure shows 4 inches/ 10 centimetres. In front of it lies a 3 inch/ 7.5 centimetre iron nail, hand-forged, and hammered out square in cross-section.

Probably 1850 CE plus. This emerged from dirt in our backyard.
