Meet Barry the blackbird. We have quite a colony of blackbirds that sing and raid in our garden. I took this photo in 2019 (I think) and it’s of O.G. Barry. He’s fairly tame and certainly doesn’t mind being in the garden with us, or playing in the birdbath. The cats love to watch him too through the windows and he likes to tease them, staying out of reach, taunting. We love his song, even if his family really like our strawberries and while he’s an introduced species he’s slotted into our urban ecosystem.
