#urbancycling anyone have good ideas for signaling turns while riding wearing a poncho? got a poncho last week that I quite like except for a few workaroundable nitpicks and the big unworkaroundable one of all of my hand signals now being illegible. so, either exchange it for a jacket and go with wet legs, or find another way to signal turns, and that latter may be nice to consider. thoughts, anyone?

Did a bit of #urbanexploring today checking out a pathway I spotted on strava and then looked at on Google maps. It was a lot of fun having a #bike #adventure on the way home from work and added a bit of excitement to the comute. It was though quite overgrown with nettles and brambles, shorts and t-shirt were a mistake as I'm now sitting here with my arms and legs stinging but I'm satisfied because I had fun. #cycling #urbancycling

Riding fixed gear is such an enjoyable experience, it feels like flying through the city surfing the asphalt with momentum as the wave.

That is, until you hit a substantial hill or headwind 💨

Belgian artists invented surrealism and clearly the local councilman responsible for cycling infrastructure likes to continue the tradition. This prime example, obviously inspired by René Magritte, is located in the north of the country close to the enclave of Baarle-Nassau (another art work of the surrealists school). Luckily I only had to ride it for 200m.

Each time I've biked the last few days I've had great experiences. A randonneur told me and my young passenger where the gravel boats go. I met a dog who desperately wanted to sniff my trailer. I stopped at a new-to-me bakery and bookstore because the weather was nice and I wasn't in a rush. Every time I ride, I feel more connected to the neighborhoods around me. I legitimately can't fathom why some people want to discourage biking as transportation. #SeaBikes #urbancycling #CarsRuinCities
