Welp, the tomatoes are completely out of control again this season. Just two plants have taken over one end of the balcony, and I've had to tie their cages to the railing to keep the plants from pulling the cages out entirely. So many tomatoes coming.

170 followers · 402 posts · Server mastodon.ieSo it turns our this is a fairly serious fungal infection (Monilinia) so I just spent the day collecting the infected cherries and pruning branches that had an Amber like substance on them, a bit disheartening, hoping it will recover next year but feel like we figured it out too late and now the fungus is in the soil ☹️

It's done! Well, not entirely, I still need to build the bottom and line it but my DIY raised bed from pallets is almost done!
It took me four days. I'll need a few more days to finish it but I'm quite proud of the result.
For now, I'm using it to stash the remaining materials. Soon, it will be filled with life. Hopefully. We'll see, it's a bit late in the season to be doing stuff like this.

Looking at it you'd never know how aggressively I trimmed back this Fuschia bush only a few months ago, it has nearly trippled in size since then, much more full of flowers than last year though and the bees love it

I guessed that perhaps it was our #DogsOfMastodon #Puppy that was keeping them away. Yesterday, during the rain, pup had her nose pressed to the window watching the hippity hops munch around the back yard. My false sense of security has disappeared, along with the parsley!
