This my winter. This section of driveway and sidewalk are shaded by a 50 year old pine bush and only get early morning sun. It's been over 50F during sunlight for around 3 days now and all of the snow on the street melts, pools behind my bush and stays.
My dad left me a 4 foot hunk of 3/4 inch rebar though and I use it to hammer at this ice a few times per day. The ice will win but it sounds like John Henry is driving iron occasionally!
