The stunning Edwardian Baroque Saint George's Mansion in Glasgow dwarfed by the concrete and tarmac of Junction 18 of the M8.
Built in the 1960s and 70s, the construction of the M8 led to the demolition of many historic building, but the damage to the architecture of Charing Cross was amongst the worst in the city.

Ghost tenement on Tollcross Road in Glasgow.
I remember this being a common sight across Glasgow in the 1970s and 80s when many tenements were being demolished. The resulting orphaned gable ends were usually cleaned up and sealed, and it's unusual to see one left quite so exposed to this day.

Moses wanted to build highways, it was easier to tear down places where the poor lived (he learned this lesson early on) and so he ended up building the projects in NYC for all the people he displaced from his highway projects - cheaply built, inhuman high rises. #slums #ReDevelopment #UrbanRenewal
