1) I went to some incredibly thoughtful and well-organized sessions that helped me establish the type of scholarship I want to do in the future. The organizers put time into crafting the panel, and it showed! 2 standouts:

@chrjang & Jennifer Candipan’s #UrbanSociology II panel was possibly the best panel I’ve ever seen at a conference.

Ethan Raker / Kathryn Connell / Lisa Marie Rodriguez’s panel on Disasters and Housing showcased the bright future of #envrionmentalsociology!

How does similarity and spatial proximity shape neighbour relations within residential buildings?

➡️ #Homophily & spatial proximity predict #WeakTies. More distant building residents may be #FamiliarStrangers or complete #strangers

I am happy to share that Maren Boersma has succeeded in her application for a postdoctoral grant (EU Horizon-Marie Curie Skłodowska programme) to work with us at the IBF (Uppsala, Sweden). Her project is titled “Just Times? Temporalities and Uncertainties for Marginalised Groups in Cities (TimeCity)” and deals with space, temporalities and social conditions of life of domestic migrant workers from Philippines in Hong Kong.
