I think it looks for the .Xresource file in your XDG_HOME folder (or something like that). Maybe invoke it with a different value on the command line?

Anybody knows how to start up #urxvt or xterm with a different .Xresources file than your main one? Like, for example, with a command-line option indicating another config file to use.

I want to be write a script to launch urxvt with a larger font for reading #ebooks on the terminal with #epr. Hacks appreciated!

That looks like #urxvt is picking up a different glyph set entirely. I don't see how any kind of shift+or transformation could turn the upper '%' (unbolded) into the lower one.

It looks like it's nothing that I need worry about, anyway. My programs do the shift-1-pixel thing too.

He vuelto, después de tres años, a usar #linux en el escritorio para la mayor parte del tiempo.

Así que he conseguido ponerme un escritorio basado en tiles #i3 usando #Regolith #Desktop. Y te ahorras gran parte de la configuración inicial.

Recupero mi .Xresources con la config de la #terminal #urxvt y presto!

Combinado con el uso de #vim y #tmux es uno de los placeres de la vida.

Eso sí, un post-it para recordar los comandos de i3, pero resulta que tenía memoria muscular para moverme! :D

Tuve un inconveniente con #urxvt y #ncmpcpp en #i3wm. La cosa era que al abrir el reproductor, este por parámetros del config i3, debería de redirigirse, abriéndose en x workspace al ser llamado (cosa que funcionaba), pero nada que nada (no se, si producto de algún ultimo update o no).

Al revisar con xprop, me di con la sorpresa que en la linea WM_CLASS(STRING)="urxvt","URxvt" en vez de mencionar a ncmpcpp (¿porque?. no lo se)...

A few months ago my terminal colours were suddenly messed up. I have no idea what caused that since I didn't touch any related settings for years.
Now I have a lot of pink on pink, which is obviously not readable.

I managed to partially fix it by deleting some colour definitions from #Xdefaults.

Did someone else experience the same?

(BTW, this is one of things I love about #urxvt —it supports ISO/IEC 14755 input mode, so you can just type the codepoint hex value while pressing ctrl+shift to get “any” character.)

i installed #fedora in a VM to test my #i3wm post-install script, and noticed a bug with #urxvt.. ..the command prompt was centered vertically in the terminal window.. ..i added "clear" at the end of the .bashrc file and that fixed it

I believe the #solarized is still the best terminal color schemes available. And I have used it for a long time when I still used rxvt-unicode. There is a on-the-fly color scheme changer available for #urxvt, too. Now I use #alacritty and there is a ton of colorschemes available. So far I like the best "Nord", "Darcula", "PaperColor" ....

eterm war IIRC das einzige das damals (Pseudo) Transparente Fenster kannte. Dann kam rxvt-unicode mit echten transparenten Fenster und schließlich nach langer Zeit dann alacritty. Als compositor nutze ich unter #XFCE derzeit #picom früher nahm ich #compton

I partner #i3 #emacs and #urxvt windows / #workspaces, so the #F10 emacs is for editing stuff running/testing in the F10 terminal session.

My #i3 #keymaps are #emacs-ish, in fact. To start it up in #workspace 10, for instance, I type

Super--e Super-F10

To switch to that was (if emacs is running or not)

Super--e F10

To start it but pop up a #Zenity query 1st to ask for emac' WD to be set first,

Super--e Super-S-F10

Replace 'e' with 't' and it does #urxvt instead of emacs.

This is also a very nice #font that plays well with #URxvt: https://sourcefoundry.org/hack/

I guess it's not as large as the Terminus font of the console, but closer to those other Bitstream Vera fonts to be quite pleasant to work with lots of text!
