decent (DEE-sent): proper, respectable, kind
descent (de-SENT) the act of going downward
dissent (dis-SENT): disagreement

Note the tiny spelling difference between "decent" and "descent". (And the tiny, perhaps even nonexistent, pronunciation difference between descent and dissent.)

Example:
I think Poe's "Descent into the Maelstrom" was a pretty decent story, but my friend dissents.
