So, MOTU 1248 on any DAW not working, have an expensive Apple Thunderbolt adapter on the way, fingers crossed...

Stuck in a world looking at stupidly expensive USB4/Thunderbolt 3 hubs, all have some negative reviews about connectivity.

Behringer XR18, which I'm using tomorrow. Apple's flagship Logic Pro X just hangs on booting. Reaper loads straight away and records all 16 channels over USB2 no problem!

Can anyone recommend a #USB4.0 #Thunderbolt3 hub with #ethernet and #HDMI connectors?

Last pre-release stepsfor #inxi 3.3.27, this features the very large internal USB upgrade (--usb/-J), as well as the completion of the audio server/api upgrade started in 3.3.26. #USB4 is quite interesting, paralleling in many ways PCIe, with multiple lanes, dedicated up/down channels, etc. I think USB 1/2 had some of these features, but they had only one fairly low speed lane. It's worth reading up on how USB 3.2 > 4 works.

USB 3.2 and 4 only work with type C connector, more lanes.

Making a stab at support for #usb 3.x/4 modes, that's running now in #pinxi. Confusing stuff, and the usb consortium didn't do anyone any favors with their fairly convoluted way of describing the various modes.

I'm wondering how the kernel is going to show that in /sys usb data, I"m guessing the /version file is going follow earlier, and show 4.00 for all the #USB4 iterations, like it shows 3.00, 3.10, 2.00, ,etc.

Anyway running now in pinxi current, if it survives, will be in next #inxi.
