Please hashtag your chatbot query and result posts so we can mute them. The algorithm is reverse chronological. I have three choices: mute, block, or unfollow you, filter a hashtag, or read the stupid things. I'd really prefer to filter on a hashtag.

@mrdalesmith @atomicpoet For mere mortals like myself, ‘following hashtags’ has been crucial. Not necessarily for finding former birdapp buds (tho I’ve been happy to find many!), but mostly to find new people! Really interesting people, doing all kinds of cool things!! I wish folx used hashtags more. I’m guilty of that too, I forget a lot. (also it’s kinda weird a post must be “public” to use hashtags, but I’m sure there’s a good reason for that.) #UseHashTags

I’ve noticed some on here who have set up accounts, but say they aren’t getting any #followers or #interaction. But when you look at their toots, they haven’t used any #hashtag indexing at all. #usehashtags #mastodon #mastodontips

@shatter it’s never the wrong thread to evangelize hashtags if there are no hashtags. And I’ve poked at Matt already about his “don’t tell us what to do” attitude. Watching everything come in regarding journalists and how the bird place is treating them, I can't help but think it would be way easier to keep track of a fast moving development if folks were using hashtags so I could click to follow those rather than hoping the 1-2 people reboosting everything they find don't need to take a bathroom break

But no, really: please use hashtags to make it easier to keep track of what's going on. Searching is different here
