Novice BAs should avoid making any diagrams and focus on writing narrative user journeys and user stories on a single happy path. Novice diagrams tend to be overcomplicated and obfuscate more than they elucidate.

@graue don’t want to be pedantic about how to write #userstories, but i am confused by what this feature does. Is it:
- Given I have a discoverable account
- Given i wrote a toot with the word “hello” in it (not a hashtag)
- When a user searches the word hello only, with or without “”
- when a user searches the word hello at least
- then results display my toot
And what about the difference
- my account is searchable (handle, bio)
Vs.
- my toots are #searchable

@allenholub Because I don’t believe that “viability” is the characteristic which influences whether a minimalistic prototype construction will be successful in a market, I reframe it as “MDP” or Most Delightful Product.

I think the Apostle Paul was the ultimate product hacker.
TIL that Tertius of Iconium acted as an amanuensis.
Product managers need someone at hand to write user stories from the reconciliation of ideas, strategy, and rhetoric with lived experience of users.

Speaking of "cognitive dissonance"... talking about #agile and #userstories and writing specifications which are longer than river Nile.

Absolument.
I'm excited to announce my first commercial venture since leaving SmartBear. 🎉
If you're struggling with User Stories that are hard to break down, or that seem to blow up into huge epics when you start development, you need our #SlicingUserStories workshop:
https://maven.com/levain/slicing-user-stories-for-agile-teams
Starting on 24th April, we'll meet for 3 x 90-minute workshops in the first week, then a final follow-up session a week later once you've had a chance to try out what you learned.

I've got #UserStory burn-in, and I bet you do, too. Let's try a new format:
We think we can ________ (why)
if we ________ (what)
for ________. (who)

Friendgineers: User stories are not about what to do, they're about how to add value.

"As a user, I want to click the button so that I can see the page" is the worst kind of user story you can write (https://uxdesign.cc/as-a-user-i-dont-want-to-973990a30158 ). It leads to bad product decisions. Instead, invert the user stories, to think bigger and solve actual user problems! Great read by Pavel Samsonov

I keep thinking about the "philosophy of Agile" or maybe even software more broadly.
There are so many things we believe due to reasoning rather than evidence. Doesn't mean it's wrong. Just lacking the evidence.
Such as "Stories should be small". I find myself constantly pushing against month long stories. And I can point to my reasons. But are there any studies or data? I doubt it.

Instead of "make sure your #ProductOwner takes time to write clear #UserStories with a value statement", consider learning what #UserStories are and have conversations between #ProductOwners and #Developers.

What #UserStories miss is making it clear how they all overlap. #EventModeling gives you a clear view of what is shared among the many functionalities of your system.

I find it pretty old school to be tracking task completion within #UserStories. Is this a #Scrum thing?
