The clinic says we owe $800 for a visit in March. The insurance paperwork says it's part of their negotiated discount and I am not responsible for this amount. I called clinic billing and they say talk to the insurance provider. Insurance says they can't talk to me because my husband is the insured. He has to call the insurance company and authorize me to sort this out. Not how I planned to spend my day off.

The difference between brand name & generic meds: I used to be on brand name eye drops for glaucoma, but my ACA insurance will not pay for them. $250/month without insurance for 1 tiny bottle. I talked to my doc about getting generic & she agreed. It's now $2.19 per bottle. I cannot even.

Turns out my dentist (who took over from my old dentist who can't practice bc medical issues) does accept my PPO dental, but IS NOT in network. So I've now had to pay nearly $400 that I was NOT expecting.
