This is the older of two posters we have featuring "Chairman Fred", a leader of the Chicago chapter of the Black Panther Party. He was assassinated in his sleep by Chicago police in 1969, at the age of 21.

RLM cites Fred Hampton and his death as one of the major influences on his trajectory towards art and activism.

Marion duPont Scott, the last private owner of #Montpelier, died at home #OTD in 1983, at the age of 89.
In her will, Mrs. Scott expressed a desire that her heirs would transfer Montpelier to The National Trust for Historic Preservation so that it could be restored & furnished to the time period of #JamesMadison.
