For me, #USL1 <-> #USLC makes a lot of sense, as does #USLW <-> #USLS, but looking at the reality of how hard it will be for #BallardFC just to appear in the #OpenCup, I can't imagine what promotion from semi-pro to fully pro is supposed to even look like.

Like, I get that it would be fun to follow Ballard in #USL1, but it seems fraught. The club would need all new players, because Ballard is made up of college kids that play NCAA soccer during the USL1 season. I know we root for laundry, but it wouldn't be the same without Stas and PK and Gaffney and the rest of the crew. The front office would have to hire like crazy, too.
