In Utah legislators were able to entice the passage of educational vouchers (rejected by voters, btw), with a pay raise to teachers (that teachers rejected).

Now the legislature is offering to remove the sales tax on food but only if earmarks to education and social services are removed.

The #GOP are bunch of sick motherf*ckers. They'll legislate to kill public education and kids any chance they get.

It's why I've grown to hate all conservatives.

Interesting #uted experience yesterday. Volunteering w/the PTA at kid's Elem book fair, a teacher from a well-resourced charter school came in. She was looking to purchase books (from her own $) as gifts for the kids in her 3rd grade class, and decided to raid the book fair at our Title I school of all the cheapest chapter books. Now, for the remainder of the book fair, mid-grade kids only have expensive books to choose from.
It's a nice thing to do for her kids, at the expense of our kids.
