So, an #introduction (1/2). My name is Mayo. I live in New York City; I studied in Copenhagen, grew up in London, and databases consider me German. Cities make more sense to me than countries. I've studied in a 12th century castle (#UWC) and on a 60s brutalist campus, and spent part of my childhood living on a boat. I wear almost exclusively black. I have way too many tabs open.

Going back to the office after a 16-day work-related trip to #southafrica where I was shown so much generosity and intellectual fireworks at the #UWC #WinterSchool. I need to write about the experience and the ways that it changed my perceptions and right now it’s a blur and all I recall are the light, the mountains, the whirl of kindness and coffee and ideas. #Humanitiesresearch centres are amazing places.
