Working #Greencube #satellite using #linux is maybe a step too far for me (for now!). On the plus side from about 25 degrees elevation upward, I could decode every packet I could hear. As for problems... Although #UZ7HO soundmodem works fine under #wine (even with my USB sound card!), it only supports PTT over COM ports (whereas I TX using CAT) - solved by using VOX. Then Gpredict for some reason wanted to set a 2m frequency for uplink. OK, I could manually correct Dopler (but only on RX).

The new soundmodem v0.06b from #uz7ho works great on #GreenCube #IO117, just not when receiving through my house.

Have been tinkering with #packet this week, as there is not much activity on VHF at my QTH, I decided to get my desktop and #windows98 machine talking to each other.

Surprisingly, #uz7ho #soundmodem just worked on Windows 98 with no issues, the only thing I couldn't get working was PTT keying over the COM port and I had to use a USB RS232 adapter instead.
