The Army awarded Bell the contract for the Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft. The V-280 will replace the UH-60 Blackhawk over the next decade.

The V-280 has been around for a few years as a prototype, and it's a fairly mature, tilt-rotor design. I think it's a great decision by the Army.

As the need was oriented for a "long range workhorse", it seems @USArmy@twitter.com selected the solution that seems the most mature and cost-effective.

While @BellFlight@twitter.com #V280 was performing Flight Hours, @BoeingDefense@twitter.com / @Sikorsky@twitter.com #DEFIANTX faced to issues and flew far less.
