Die schafe sind nun endlich auf der Voralpe auf 2000m. Sie geniessen es. Nun jeden Tag zur Kontrolle hoch.

The sheep are on an area a little lower than the alp on 2000m. They enjoy the cool. Gotta go look after them every day now.

Finally. She has lambed. I was concerned. She was quite weak and dizzy. This morning she slipped after I let her out. She couldn't get up on the concrete floor, and I had a hard time hauling her back to her box without hurting her... I guess she was around 100kg for sure.

Three #lambs, all healthy as it seems. I'm not sure, maybe I'll bottlefeed them in addition. Will ask some of the experienced shepards. She is very thin.

Heut Nacht kamen wieder zwei Lämmer dazu.
Am Abend ging nichts, als ich um 00:30 schauen ging, hatte sie Drillinge geboren. Eines davon war tot. Wahrscheinlich konnte sie sich wegen der zwei anderen Geburten nicht darum kümmern. Den anderen zwei geht es gut. Und für drei hätte sie wohl auch zu wenig Milch gehabt.
Jetzt sind noch zwei Auen trächtig.

Am Samstag kam das erste #Lamm der Saison. Wir waren tagsüber weg, am Abend war es da. Ein Weibchen, gesund und munter. 4 werden noch lammern

Last week I dyed some #valaisblacknose wool. Today I used my beloved electric drum carder to prepare it for #felting.

I want to make some felt boots for the tiny human to keep his feet warm when he's on my back. I have a carrying jacket or use warm blankets that cover both of us, but the feet are always a Problem, when it gets colder and windy.

I know more or less what I am doing. We had a similar case last year. We made a cast at first, but the lamb grew out of it so quickly, that I decided to Start with a splint right away.

She stood up right away - a little insecure, but she stands. I Wish I had some painkillers for her. I'll have to discuss with my vet if I can have some in Reserve.

I still hope she'll be able to drink on her own, when she gains some strenght.

I took off the bandage and pulled the leg straight at first. Next I padded the leg with sheep wool and wrapped a piece of pet bottle around the broken part as a Splint. Fixating with ductape and Adding a a sturdy Sport bandage around it.

My neighbours lamb that already had a difficult start now also has a broken leg. "luckily" it is broken at a "good" place. It is a rear leg and close to the foot.
Front leg would have been really bad.
When I came this morning I saw that there was a bandage on the leg that offered no Support...
