I finished #CampDamascus by #ChuckTingle. Definitely worth a read. Next up is the new #Valdemar novel, and then it'll be back to MDZS with Volume 4.

@NightDrake Ooh, #MercedesLackey’s stuff is awesome. I think collegium chronicles was actually the series of hers that I read most recently. I’ve been known o go back and reread some of the #Valdemar stuff for the familiarity of it, though come to think of it, there are books in that group I have yet to finish, either I started them and life got crazy, or I’ve een meaning to get to them and just haven’t. Have you read any of her #ElementalMasters stuff? I wish #NLSBard would get more of her stuff in Braille, frankly.

#heleído y os recomiendo leer, esta obra del tito Barker. La Gótica de Valdemar siempre es garantía de calidad y mimo del objeto libro, pero si ya la historia es de uno de tus autores favoritos... pues caneloni.

Para mi Barker es especial, por como habla de los 'raros'. Me llegó y me acompañó en mi adolescencia y no sabía muy bien por qué esa querencia, ahora lo sé, detrás de su vehemencia y de sus espuertas de vísceras y sangre hay una llamada. Por eso me sigue gustando en esta mi enésima pubertad.

Así que yo obedezco ese ensalmo, esa cita implícita en las historias de este autor, me voy de peregrinaje a Midian con la bata de cola puesta. 😜

I just found out that #Valdemar is getting a TV series, but it's starting with the prequel trilogy, "The Last Herald-Mage".

To be clear, Lackey caused a bit of consternation, herself, with some transphobic statements years ago, but has had the grace to see the error of her ways, apologize publicly, and state her support of trans people in no uncertain or equivocal terms.

The #Valdemar books should have been adapted to cinematic releases decades ago, and it's a mystery why they have not. They were some of the earliest books I can remember in the #Fantasy genre to feature #LGBT relationships.

Una auténtica joya para fans de los Mitos de #Cthulhu. Antología de relatos (y alguna novela corta) profusamente anotada por Leslie S. Klinger (quien también en Akal tiene todo el canon holmesiano anotado hasta casi el absurdo) y con alguna que otra ilustración o fotografía de época. La cantidad de información sobre #Lovecraft su obra, su cosmología, su manera de trabajar es abrumadora. Es un libro que exige mucho tiempo para poder disfrutarlo y sacarle todo el jugo.
No sé si lo recomendaría a alguien que quisiera adentrarse en la obra del genio de Providence, pero para los que ya estén enganchados no dudaría en absoluto. Tengo en mi biblioteca los dos volúmenes anotados de Akal y los dos de las obras completas de #Valdemar y ninguno me sobra.

Currently reading Beyond, the new Mercedes Lackey about the founding of Valdemar. I love a good origin story, and this world is one of my favourites. I know some of the books are patchy (esp the novellas) but I’ll basically read all of it anyway. Later on I’ll be diving into the first day of #TheDarkIsReading which I do every year, plus listening to Rob MacFarlane’s BBC audio version.
