- the #CaliforniaCondor, one of the most #endangered birds in the world, with only a few hundred left in the wild

"Turn Around and Look Back"

I was climbing a rise to get a photo of the sinking sun shining on one of the famous buttes east across the valley. I looked back the way I'd come and was delighted with the depth and color of the view toward the south in the crimson light. You can see the road to the left and my pop-up camper to the right.

Thanks to @SilverRainbow for the inspiration to post this photo. Remember, folks, not to focus so tightly on your "objective" that you risk missing the spontaneous delight about you!

This is a beautiful photo in color emphasizing the butte. In monochrome the aspect changes with the interestingly textured clouds mirroring the landforms.

Valley of the Gods in the morning light with bonus moon.

This aerial photo shows a few of the sandstone towers and cliffs that make this area so very special. Located in SE Utah and administered by the Bureau of Land Management, there is no fee for entrance or camping. You can see my pickup camper in the bottom third of the photo.
