Disappointed to see that the Senate Health and Education committee give its approval to a bill that bans gender transition procedures for individuals under the age of 18 and ban insurance coverage of the same. In my mind, as long as someone wanting those procedures who's younger than 18 is given all the information to make an informed decision, it's really no one else's business or concern. The bill may be coming up in the full Senate sometime this week (SB1203). #VAgov #VApolitics

🚨 Bad bill alert! The Senate Commerce and Labor committee advanced a bill pushed by Dominion Energy that makes changes allowing Dominion to further pad their profit margin, raising rates on consumers. Senate bill 1265, sponsored by Dick Saslaw. Intense pushback understandably from environmental and consumer protection groups. And of course on the House side, we have a bill that directs school personnel to inform parents if they suspect a student identifies as any gender other than the one assigned at birth and inquire if the parents intend to get counseling for the student 🙄 This bill had a hearing today but not sure yet whether it was recommended for passage or not. #vagov #vapolitics
